Jamal Musiala steps up injury comeback at Bayern Munich

Jamal Musiala has moved a step closer to his Bayern Munich return after confirming his recovery from a serious injury was progressing well.

The 22-year-old attacker was back on the training pitch following the winter break, arriving a day earlier than the rest of the Bayern squad.

Speaking during a visit to the Taubenbach fan club on Sunday, Musiala made it clear that patience would remain key, but his confidence is growing.

"It's not just my decision," Musiala said when asked about a possible return to competitive action. "We don't want to do anything too early and we're taking it session by session. It's going really well."

Musiala has been sidelined since suffering a broken fibula and a dislocated ankle during Bayern's Club World Cup quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain in July. The injury ruled him out for several months and required a carefully managed rehabilitation programme.

Bayern began reintegrating the Germany international in mid-December, when he took part in parts of team training. His early return to training after the winter break underlined both his determination and the club's cautious optimism over his condition.

While no firm comeback date has been set, Musiala's comments suggest he is edging closer to full fitness. Bayern's medical staff and coaching team are continuing to monitor his progress closely, with decisions being made on a session-by-session basis.
