Musiala, who broke into the Bayern Munich first team while Muller was still performing at an elite level, learned from one of the craftiest and most intelligent footballers of the modern era.
Muller, indescribably unique in style, famously reinvented the No. 10 position, crafting his own interpretation of space and movement on the pitch.
But as Bayern prepare for the new season, both men will be absent. Muller has officially departed the club, bringing an iconic chapter to a close.
Meanwhile, Musiala will miss the upcoming campaign after suffering a serious leg injury at the Club World Cup - a significant blow for Bayern's attacking plans.
The dual absence leaves a creative vacuum at the heart of Bayern's attack, a position that has long been one of the club's greatest strengths. With Muller's legacy still fresh and Musiala's ascent interrupted, the Bavarians face a rare moment of uncertainty in the No. 10 role.
Nevertheless, Bayern's long-term outlook remains positive. Known for their attacking depth and development of talent, the club is expected to recover quickly.
"I will give that to Thomas Muller," Musiala reflected in his interview with The Athletic after being named the cover star of the video game EA FC 26.
"I've learned so much from him - so many little bits of advice - and I've had so much fun playing with him. There are so many players I could say, but Thomas is at the top."
