Igor Tudor hails 'turning point' after Spurs' dramatic late draw at Liverpool

Tottenham looked set for another painful defeat on Sunday until Richarlison struck in the 90th minute to secure a 1-1 draw. The goal ended a damaging run of six consecutive league defeats and lifted Spurs one point clear of relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

Tudor praised his players for their resilience after a week dominated by injuries and absences.

"The team spirit was amazing. This was the main demand," Tudor said. "The quality is there. We hope today is a turning point."

The Croatian coach had to manage without 12 first-team players because of injuries and suspensions, leaving him with limited options on the bench. Tottenham were even forced to introduce teenagers Callum Olusesi and James Rowswell during the second half.

"It is an amazing, incredible point we take here and deserving," Tudor said. "Congratulations to the guys. It is very difficult to even explain our circumstances."

He revealed that the situation became even more complicated on matchday when Conor Gallagher was ruled out.

"In training we prepared one way, then this morning Conor says he cannot play, so we had to change players and positions," Tudor explained. "The moment is strange and challenging, but the players were really amazing."

Tudor, who replaced Thomas Frank as Tottenham's interim coach, insisted he was not thinking about his own future despite the club's difficult position in the table.

"I have been coaching 15 years and never think about my future," he said. "I always think about tomorrow's training and how to help the players."

While Tottenham celebrated a hard-earned point, the result was another frustrating setback for Liverpool manager Arne Slot. The defending champions had taken the lead through a first-half free-kick from Dominik Szoboszlai but once again failed to close out the match.

Liverpool's supporters voiced their frustration at full-time after their team conceded late for the eighth time in the Premier League this season.

For Tottenham, however, the late goal brought much-needed relief.

"It gave us some fresh air," Tudor said. "It is a long way to our goal of staying in the Premier League, but today was important to show our spirit."
