Despite the defeat, Bayern officials are preparing to step up plans for contract discussions with the 32-year-old, who remains central to the club's long-term project.
Kane has been in outstanding form throughout the 2025-26 campaign and has repeatedly made it clear that he is enjoying life in Germany. He has said that he intends to stay for several more years, and nothing he has indicated in recent weeks suggests that he is considering a Premier League return.
Barcelona, who are likely to seek a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski, are the only major club understood to hold interest from abroad, but Bayern are calm and confident.
Speaking earlier in November, Kane said: "There's no rush. I'm really happy in Munich. You can see that in the way I'm playing. If there's contact, then we'll see. But I'm not thinking about the new season yet. First, there's the World Cup in the summer. And it's very unlikely that anything will change after this season. I'm sure I'll have talks with Bayern in the next few months, then we'll see what's best for the future."
When asked whether Bayern supporters should worry about his future, he added: "No, I don't think so!"
Initial reports suggested that Bayern and Kane's representatives were planning to open negotiations in January. However, club sources have indicated that discussions are more likely to begin only once the striker's release clause, worth around fifty-six million pounds, expires at the end of that month.
Kane, who still has two years left on his existing deal, is understood to have an excellent relationship with senior figures at Bayern. The club are relaxed, the player is relaxed, and both sides appear confident that the next step will be taken in due course, with no pressure on negotiations as the second half of the season approaches.
