The visit forms part of the growing partnership between the cities of Braunschweig and Nelson Mandela Bay, using football as a powerful tool for education, cultural exchange and youth development.
Over several intensive training sessions, many young players from local clubs, schools and community programmes participated in modern football drills focused on technical ability, tactical understanding, teamwork and discipline. Local coaches also benefited from specialised workshops and hands-on mentoring designed to create sustainable long-term development within the region.
The return visit highlights the commitment of both partners to building a lasting football development programme rather than a one-off international appearance.
The initiative also serves as an important activation of the official city partnership between Braunschweig and Nelson Mandela Bay, demonstrating how international cooperation can create meaningful opportunities at grassroots level. Sport has become a bridge connecting young people from different cultures while promoting social inclusion and community development.
Representatives involved in the programme have already expressed interest in expanding the collaboration further, including future coaching exchanges, youth tournaments and long-term academy partnerships.
David Walland, Executive Head of Harvest Christian School, welcomed the growing cooperation and highlighted its immediate impact:
“I would like to express our sincere appreciation and excitement regarding this developing partnership. Our coaches and players have already benefited significantly from the engagement with Eintracht Braunschweig, Schächter Sports, and The Football Union.”
The continued collaboration is already being viewed as a model for sustainable international sports development — one that combines football excellence with education, mentorship and long-term community impact.
