Stellies recorded a comprehensive 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United at Athlone Stadium to move into ninth position with 31 points on the table after 24 games.
The experienced coach says he will now have conversations with the club’s management about the direction to take going forward but did concede he may have restrictions to adjust to in terms of his wish list.
"Well I thought the most important thing to get is 30 points, so we got there tonight and I think a lot of discussions will start happening – they have happened," said Hunt.
"Obviously what I want I'm not going to get, am I? We've got certain parameters that we work with here at this football club, so ja, we're going to have to box clever.
"I think boxing clever is more important than trying to be clever – I think that's the most important things."
Hunt also confirmed an assessment of the players’ performance to sift through who will stay and who needs to be let go of ahead of the 2026/27 campaign to ensure they do not struggle the way they did earlier this season.
"A lot of players have put up their hands, a lot of players – I don't know, there are a lot of players out of contract and there's a lot of clubs like that in the PSL," he pointed out.
"There's a lot going to happen behind the scenes, we don't want to have a season like we've had this season again, that's for sure.
"If this was last year, Cape Town City – they just went, and we don't want that."
