Erling Haaland scores late winner as Norway knock out Ivory Coast

Erling Haaland scored late to help Norway into the last 16 at the FIFA World Cup following a 2-1 victory against Ivory Coast at the Dallas Stadium in Texas.

The prolific Manchester City striker was on hand to tap in from close-range with four minutes remaining as the Norwegians set up a clash with Brazil in the next round.

The game started started slowly as both teams navigated knockout football and trying to ease into the contest.

The match then exploded into life when Antonio Nusa fired Norway into the lead six minutes before the halftime break with a brilliant goal.

The left-wing cut inside, dropped his shoulder to beat his defender before sending a curling effort into the far-corner that Ivorian goalkeeper Yahia Fofana had no chance of saving.

Manchester United's Amad Diallo came off the bench for the Ivory Coast on the hour mark and had an impact, giving the African side a more attacking threat.

Diallo then found the equaliser on 74 minutes, dancing into the box from the right past two challenges before producing a composed finish.

Just as it seemed the match was heading into he extra-time, another moment of quality from Norway substitute Oscar Bobb ultimately et up the winner for Haaland.

Bobb played in a brilliant through ball to that the on-rushing Patrick Berg got in the box before crossing for an unmarked Haaland to tap in.

Norway will face five-time champions Brazil on Sunday in New Jersey with the quarter-final place at stake.
