Everton keeper Jordan Pickford wins Premier League awards including 'save of season'

Jordan Pickford delivered another defining season for Everton and has been recognised with two major Premier League awards for the 2025/26 campaign after a series of decisive performances for club and country.

The England number one was named winner of the Coca Cola Save of the Season for a dramatic late intervention against Newcastle United in February. In the 94th minute at St James' Park, Pickford produced a crucial fingertip save to deny Sandro Tonali's powerful volley, tipping the ball over the bar to secure a 3-2 victory for Everton in a tense finish.

Pickford also collected the Microsoft Goalkeeper Performance of the Season award for his standout display in Everton's 2-0 win over Brighton in August. That match marked the club's first competitive fixture at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and the goalkeeper played a central role in ensuring a winning start at the new ground.

With David Moyes' side already leading by two goals, Pickford made a key second-half penalty save from Danny Welbeck and followed it with several important stops under pressure to preserve a clean sheet and seal three points.

The 32-year-old was also shortlisted for another Save of the Season moment after an acrobatic effort to deny Joshua Zirkzee in Everton's 1-0 win away at Manchester United in November.

Pickford's consistency across the season saw him beat competition from several Premier League goalkeepers, including Robin Roefs, Martin Dubravka, Robert Sanchez, Guglielmo Vicario and Jose Sa, all of whom were also recognised for strong individual performances.

Pickford continues to build momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America, where he is expected to play a key role for England.
