The defender was substituted in the 82nd minute of Monday's 1-0 victory over Newcastle United after experiencing cramp, but Moyes is optimistic he will recover in time.
"We're just nursing him along a wee bit, just checking to see he's okay, so we need to see how he is," Moyes said at his pre-match press conference.
Everton go into the game looking for a third consecutive victory after beating Newcastle in both the Carabao Cup and Premier League. Those results have lifted the Toffees to seventh in the table.
However, Jack Grealish will not be available against Coventry, although Moyes indicated that the winger could return to training soon.
"Jack is not available. I wouldn't give you the plan, but we will be working with Jack again soon," the Everton manager said.
Moyes also backed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's chances of earning his first England call-up, with national team manager Thomas Tuchel due to announce his squad for the upcoming international break on Friday.
The midfielder has impressed in recent matches, and Moyes believes his performances are putting him in contention for international recognition.
"Kiernan's form is getting back to his levels of last year. Recently, in the past couple of games, he's been very good," he said.
"I hope he does. He certainly must be around it, knocking on the door."
Moyes acknowledged that competition for places in England's midfield is strong but believes Dewsbury-Hall can strengthen his case by maintaining his current form.
"As long as he keeps doing well for Everton, we'll be pleased, but if he gets recognised for England, then that would be great as well," he added.
