Erling Haaland targets more Man City glory after Pep Guardiola goodbye

Guardiola brought down the curtain on a remarkable 10-year spell at City during Monday's open-top bus parade through Manchester before thousands of supporters gathered inside Co-op Live for a farewell celebration.

The event celebrated City's domestic cup double, along with the club's Women's Super League and FA Youth Cup successes, but much of the attention was focused on Guardiola's departure and the exits of long-serving stars Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

Former City captain Vincent Kompany returned for the occasion, while Ederson, Fernandinho and Jack Grealish were also part of the celebrations as supporters paid tribute to one of the most successful eras in the club's history.

Guardiola won 20 trophies during his decade at the Etihad Stadium and played a major role in Haaland's move to Manchester in 2022. Despite the end of that partnership, the Norwegian striker made it clear City's ambitions remain unchanged.

"It has been an up-and-down season but we are going to try to keep pushing and try to fight to win the biggest trophies we can," Haaland said.

"That's what we want to win and we are fighting to win everything again. It has been a pleasure to play with Bernardo and John, and of course for Pep.

"It has been an amazing journey but we need to keep pushing and fighting even without them. Now it is time to celebrate them and they are truly legends of the club."

After the parade through the city centre, the team buses arrived directly at the arena where all 20 trophies won under Guardiola were carried onto the stage by players, staff and club figures, including Oasis musician Noel Gallagher.

Guardiola received a huge ovation before delivering a heartfelt farewell message to supporters.

"Thank you so much for coming here tonight to say bye," Guardiola said.

"I've felt the connection that this club has from the first minute.

"Thank you so much, I don't have enough gratitude. I will have that with me for the rest of my life."
