England clash offers chance to top Group L for Black Stars

The Ghanaian national team are building up to their next clash in Group L against England in Boston, and Black Stars attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante says they are cooking up an upset.

The two teams are tied on three points after winning their respective opening games against Croatia and Panama, with the Three Lions topping the group with superior goal difference as things stand. 

For the first time, this year’s World Cup uses head-to-head results to separate tied teams, and Thomas-Asante says they believe they can do it, against one of the favourites in this tournament...

"It's tournament football so it's always a balance between recovering from the last game, travelling, and also preparing for the next game. We've started to focus our minds on the different challenges we're going to face against England and how we are going to use our resources and quality to get a positive result."

Now under Carlos Queiroz, the Black Stars will continue to believe, after their last-gasp 1-0 win over Panama in Houston. Thomas says, their slender win in the opening game has brought a lot of confidence in their camp, and now it’s all about building on this momentum.
