DStv Premiership wrap: Cape Town City claim top spot

Cape Town City claimed top spot in the DStv Premiership on Sunday as TS Galaxy also won big.

Golden Arrows 0-1 Cape Town City

Cape Town City moved to the top of the DStv Premiership standings with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Sunday.

Brandon Theron inadvertently put the ball into his own net on eight minutes for the only goal of the game.

City moved a point above Sundowns with 25 points but have played five more games than the Brazilians.

Arrows stayed on 20 points in fourth place from 12 matches.

TS Galaxy 3-0 Polokwane City

TS Galaxy recorded a big win over Polokwane City in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.

It was pretty much all one-way traffic in this tie with Sphiwe Mahlangu (12') opening the scoring in the first half.

Mpho Mvelase (70') added a second in the second period while Samir Nurkovic (90+3') made sure of the points late on.

The result saw Galaxy end the afternoon in 10th place on the league standings with 15 points from 12 games and Rise and Shine in eighth with 17 points from 13 matches.
