DStv Premiership: Kaizer Chiefs draw with Swallows in rain-affected game

Torrential rain and thunderstorms plagued the FNB Stadium as Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows battled to a frustrating 0-0 draw in their DStv Premiership clash.

Chiefs continued their goal drought in open play since the PSL resumed this year, despite a recent Nedbank Cup disappointment against Milford FC.

Coach Cavin Johnson's lineup changes, including the return of Keagan Dolly, failed to spark significant attacking threat from Amakhosi.

The game started lacklustre, with neither side able to break the deadlock. In the 29th minute, Ashley du Preez's disallowed goal added to Chiefs' frustration.

Early in the second half, Chiefs suffered a blow when Edmilson Dove was sent off.

The match was paused in the 57th minute due to heavy rain and lightning. Following deliberations, play resumed, but neither side could capitalise on chances.

With the clock ticking down, both teams had opportunities, but goalkeeper heroics ensured the game ended level. The draw leaves both teams with work to do in their pursuit of league success.
