De Zerbi praises 'improved mentality' after Tottenham's win at Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has pinpointed his team's improved mentality as a key factor after the 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Spurs claimed their second victory of the season to move away from the relegation zone and into 12th spot on the Premier League table following a horrendous start to the campaign.

Two second half goals were enough to hand the visitors the three points and back-to-back wins in the league after the 3-1 midweek result against Coventry City.

"The quality of the players today, Mateus Fernandes, Tonali, van der Ven, Robertson, Mathys Tel, Maddison, Gallagher - they played very well," said De Zerbi to Spurs media after the match.

"Then the quality of the play, because we created many problems for Chelsea. The mentality, because we wanted to win this game. We fought in the right way, and we made our fans and our club very happy.

"I think the key for this club, for our club, for our team, is the mentality. I think now we are improving in the mentality. There is another atmosphere, there is another connection, and another relationship with the players."

The Coys are now unbeaten in their last three matches and will turn their attention to next Saturday's clash at home against Crystal Palace.
