Crystal Palace finalise Ben Chilwell, Quinten Timber transfers after deadline

Ben Chilwell has returned to Crystal Palace on a permanent basis, with the Conference League winners also completing the signing of Netherlands international Quinten Timber.

The England defender, who has 21 caps for his country, previously spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Selhurst Park from RC Strasbourg. Chilwell joined the French side from Chelsea in September 2025, having earlier represented Leicester City and Huddersfield Town.

"It's amazing to be back," said Chilwell, who won the FA Cup with Palace in May 2025.

"It's nice to see some familiar faces, and I'm just really excited to get back in, see the boys and the fans, and get going again."

Timber, meanwhile, has left Marseille to join Palace on a five-year contract. The 25-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Netherlands and was part of their squad for this summer's World Cup. He is also the brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber.

Palace finalised both permanent transfers after Tuesday's 23:00 BST deadline, with deal sheets submitted to the Premier League allowing the moves to be completed.

The club have also brought in Chilean winger Dario Osorio from FC Midtjylland on a season-long loan. The temporary move was completed alongside the late permanent additions.
