Champions League in sight for optimistic Pirates winger Vincent Pule

Orlando Pirates winger Vincent Pule says the team want to play in the CAF Champions League next season.

Orlando Pirates winger Vincent Pule is aiming high, as the team sets their sights on participating in the CAF Champions League next season.

The Buccaneers beat Marumo Gallants 2-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday thanks to goals by Monnapule Saleng and Philip Ndlondlo, bringing their win streak to three games.

Despite being 24 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, Pule is not discouraged.

"At the moment, we have to make sure we become consistent and take one game at a time," said Pule. "Consistency is very vital at this time...we want to gain more momentum. As a team, we want to play in the Champions League next season."

Pule has had a rough start to the season, being in and out of the team due to nagging injuries. However, he remains optimistic about his role in the team.

"I know if I can be fit, I can be able to help score goals and assist my teammates," said Pule. "That would help the team achieve the targets that were set at the start of the season."

With a clear goal in mind and a determination to succeed, Pirates and Pule are not backing down from their ambitions, "We're not focused on what other teams are doing," said Pule. "We're running our own race."
