Cedric Kaze reveals thinking behind Papi Zothwane appointment at Sekhukhune

The pair arrive at Babina Noko after spending the previous campaign at different Betway Premiership clubs, with Kaze at Kaizer Chiefs and Zothwane at Richards Bay. 

Speaking on Metro FM's Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube, Kaze said he wanted an assistant with a strong knowledge of SA football to complement his coaching philosophy – and the club felt Zothwane ticked all the boxes. 

"I spoke with the management with regards to the technical team I was looking to assemble and I gave them the requirements for those positions and I led them to choose because we wanted local coaches to help us settle things.

"Papi has the qualities to be in the set-up, and when they told me that they've chosen him I was very happy because he's been a very good player before and he has very good experience in the league and he is also a very well respected coach."

Paulus Masehe has also remained and continues his apprenticeship at Sekhukhune having seen coaches come and go. 

Kaze is embracing both former Bafana internationals.  

Kaze elaborated briefly on how he plans to improve Sekhukhune, who finished in fifth place despite being considered title contenders midway through last season.

"There was a big difference between the first round of the league and the second round of the league, and you have to try to understand why there was a big difference. In the first round of league matches they didn't concede a lot of goals, but I also know they didn't score a lot of goals in the second part of the league, and these are things we need to get to grips with by having different options to anticipate those kind of issues."

Babina Noko have confirmed 17 exits including talisman Keletso Makgalwa, who is joining Simba SC in Tanzania.
