Caicedo rallies Chelsea to improve after disappointing loss to Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo believes his team knows what they need to improve on following the 2-0 defeat at home against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Ecuador international captained the Blues for the second successive match as they suffered their first loss at Stamford Bridge this season.

Caicedo recently returned to action for Chelsea after recovering from an early season injury and has started the last three consecutive matches.

"We need to be focused during the whole game because if you switch off for one second, you get punished," admitted the 24-year-old to the club website.

"We need to learn from this because we need to stop this from happening and we need to maintain the clean sheet for the whole game. It was a tough one, but we need to keep going because there are more games in front of us and we want to do better.

"Everybody knows what we need to improve. We are going to think about this game because we need to be up there in the table. We need to learn from this and for sure we are going to be up there [at the end of the season]."

The result sees the West London giants remain temporarily in fourth spot on the table, one point above fifth placed Liverpool who are set to battle third placed Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday.

Chelsea will turn their immediate attention to Wednesday's Carabao Cup Round of 16 encounter against Liverpool at Anfield.
