After 10 years Thusi has made part of Banyana Banyana squad to face Morocco in an away international friendly on 2 December in Agadir.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Thusi says she will use this opportunity to raise her hand for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations call up.
“I am grateful for my return to the national team. I was last part of Banyana Banyana in 2015. I believe hard work and discipline has led me to this call up. I will use this opportunity to raise my hand for the 2026 WAFCON,” Thusi said.
Thusi’s Banyana Banyana call up comes after she helped JVW to secure second place position on the Hollywoodbets Super League log - with 69 points after 30 matches. She unpacks what influenced her good form at club level.
“With JVW it is always about team work. We were aiming for top five but we have exceeded our expectations. I know my call up for the national team came because of my positive contribution at club level and I remain grateful for that,” said Thusi.
The 34-year-old shares her expectations ahead of the Morocco friendly, stating that they will need high energy to counter the youthful Moroccan side.
“Morocco is a very good team, they have speed, they are youthful and energetic. I believe we need to match their energy to make sure that they don’t close us down. We are all ready to take on this challenge as we prepare for the 2026 WAFCON,” she expressed.
