Girona slipped into the relegation zone after defeat to Atletico Madrid, while already-relegated Oviedo continued to struggle at the foot of the table.
FC Barcelona wrapped up a flawless home La Liga campaign with a 3-1 victory over Real Betis at Camp Nou.
The champions dominated early and eventually took the lead through Raphinha, whose free-kick caught Alvaro Valles off guard. Betis thought they had equalised earlier through Abde Ezzalzouli, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Barcelona slowed after the break, but Betis gifted them a second goal when Hector BellerÃn's poor back pass allowed Raphinha to score again. Isco pulled one back from the penalty spot to give the visitors hope, but Joao Cancelo sealed the win with a superb strike from outside the box.
The victory ensured Barcelona completed a perfect home league season for the first time since 1959/60.
Rayo Vallecano boosted their European hopes with a deserved 2-0 win over Villarreal CF.
Sergio Camello opened the scoring with an excellent finish before Alemao doubled the lead early in the second half after a clever pass from club legend Oscar Trejo in his final home appearance.
Despite the defeat, Villarreal had already secured qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League. Rayo, meanwhile, stayed firmly in the race for a UEFA Conference League place after extending their unbeaten run to eight matches.
Valencia CF secured their La Liga survival in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 4-3 comeback win over Real Sociedad.
Real Sociedad struck first through Aihen Munoz, but Valencia responded quickly as Javi Guerra and Hugo Duro turned the game around before half-time.
The hosts fought back strongly after the interval. An own goal from Cesar Tarrega and a finish from Orri Oskarsson suddenly put Sociedad 3-2 ahead, while Valencia were reduced to 10 men after Eray Comert's red card.
Valencia refused to give up. Guido Rodriguez headed in a late equaliser before Guerra completed the comeback in stoppage time with a brilliant solo goal. The victory confirmed Valencia's safety and also kept alive their outside hopes of European qualification.

Girona missed several early chances before Ademola Lookman scored the decisive goal after combining with Antoine Griezmann, who was making his 500th Atletico appearance.
Girona pushed hard throughout the match, but goalkeeper Jan Oblak produced several excellent saves to deny them. The defeat extended Girona's winless run to nine matches and left them needing a victory on the final day to have any chance of survival.
Atletico's win kept them firmly in the race to finish third in La Liga alongside Champions League-bound Villarreal.
Sevilla FC confirmed their survival despite a 1-0 defeat at home to Real Madrid.
Sevilla started brightly, but Vinicius Junior finished calmly after good work from Kylian Mbappe to give Madrid the lead. The visitors controlled large parts of the match afterwards and comfortably protected their advantage.
Although Sevilla lost, results elsewhere guaranteed their place in La Liga for another season. Real Madrid also extended their unbeaten run against Sevilla to 15 matches.
Deportivo Alaves moved closer to survival with a tense 1-0 victory over already-relegated Real Oviedo.
Toni Martinez scored the only goal after good work from Abde Rebbach in the first half. Oviedo dominated possession for long periods but failed to seriously test Antonio Sivera as Alaves held firm.
The result means Alaves only need to avoid defeat on the final day to guarantee safety.
Levante UD earned a massive 2-0 win against RCD Mallorca to move three points clear of the relegation zone.
Carlos Espi opened the scoring with Levante's first shot on target before Kervin Arriaga headed home late on to secure the points.
Mallorca's situation worsened after the defeat. They will begin the final day inside the relegation zone and must win to keep their survival hopes alive.
Elche CF climbed further away from danger with a 1-0 victory over 10-man Getafe CF.
Victor Chust scored with a powerful strike from distance before Getafe captain Djene Dakonam was sent off late in the first half.
Elche could not find a second goal after the break, but they remained in control and held on for a crucial victory. The result left them two points above the relegation zone heading into the final weekend.
Athletic Bilbao guaranteed their La Liga status after drawing 1-1 with RC Celta de Vigo.
Celta took an early lead through Williot Swedberg, but Athletic responded after the break when Inaki Williams converted from close range.
Athletic pushed hard for a winner, but goalkeeper Ionuà Radu produced several important saves to preserve the draw. The point kept Celta on course for UEFA Europa League qualification heading into the final round of fixtures.
