Atletico Madrid are keen on Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati

Atletico Madrid have reportedly set their sights on Ansu Fati, aiming to secure the talented young Barcelona forward's services.

As the summer transfer window reaches its final stages, Barcelona are gearing up for an active period, encompassing both incoming and outgoing movements.

Currently in pursuit of a new attacker and striving to finalise a loan deal for right-back Joao Cancelo, Barcelona also face the challenging task of offloading undesired players.

Among these potential departures, Ansu Fati's future seems uncertain. It has become increasingly apparent that the burgeoning talent does not enjoy the complete trust of Barca's management. In line with this, reports from El Chiringuito indicate that Atletico Madrid's interest in Fati is not mere speculation. The club's CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, recently engaged in discussions with Jorge Mendes to express Atletico's sincere desire to acquire Fati's services.

During this dialogue, Marin personally requested Mendes to undertake efforts to persuade Fati to join Atleti during this ongoing summer transfer window. Such a move would align with Atletico's objectives to enhance their attacking options for the upcoming season.

Notably, this keen pursuit is an outcome of Diego Simeone's genuine interest in Fati. The Atletico Madrid coach's enthusiasm for signing the young Barcelona forward has been communicated to the club's decision-makers, underscoring the club's determined pursuit of the player.
