The 25-year-old underwent a medical on Thursday and was scheduled to be unveiled shortly after, but delays in paperwork pushed his official presentation back by several hours before he was finally introduced at the Spotify Camp Nou on Friday.
Gordon, who becomes part of a major attacking reshuffle under Hansi Flick, described the move as a childhood dream fulfilled after finalising his switch from the Premier League.
"As soon as I knew Barca was a serious option, there was never any question," he said. "It's the biggest club on the planet. It's what I dreamed of as a child."
He added: "I know what comes with it - responsibility, expectations - but I'm ready for that challenge."
Barcelona and Newcastle had reached an agreement earlier this week, with sources indicating the fee could rise above â¬80m with add-ons. Bayern Munich and Liverpool were also credited with interest in the winger, but Barca moved decisively to secure his signature ahead of the summer rebuild.
Gordon's arrival comes as Barcelona continue to reshape their forward line, with coach Hansi Flick keen to add versatility and intensity in wide areas. The England international, who primarily operates on the left but can also play centrally, joins a frontline featuring Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
"To play with players like Lamine is very exciting," Gordon said. "The more quality you have around you, the better you become. These are the best players in the world."
The transfer was briefly overshadowed by an eight-hour delay to his official unveiling due to administrative issues, something Gordon acknowledged with frustration but calmness.
"All my part was done," he said. "It was just legal things and small details above me. I was ready."
Despite the delay, Gordon impressed at his presentation by speaking Spanish, revealing he had studied the language for years while believing he would one day join Barcelona.
"I wanted to speak Spanish because as a kid I believed I would play for Barca," he said. "I told people at Newcastle that one day I would be here."
Gordon leaves Newcastle after three-and-a-half years at St James' Park, where he made 152 appearances and scored 39 goals in all competitions. He was the club's top scorer this season with 17 goals before his involvement tapered off late in the campaign amid growing expectations of a summer move.
Newcastle had extended his contract in 2024, but financial considerations and interest from Europe's elite clubs ultimately opened the door for his departure. The forward is now set to join the England squad for a pre-World Cup training camp in the United States next week.
