Bayern Munich have been without Davies since March, when he suffered a cruciate ligament tear while on international duty. The left-back has been back in light training and is now approaching full fitness, although a return to action is not expected immediately.
Kompany confirmed Davies was close to being involved at squad level but urged caution over his comeback timeline.
"We still need to talk about Alphonso Davies, but there is a chance he will be in the squad tomorrow," Kompany said. "I think it will be a tight game. I do not think he will get any minutes. Everything before Christmas is a bonus. But there is a chance he plays this week."
Bayern Munich will be without Luis Diaz for the match after the forward picked up a suspension. Diaz will also miss the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against Mainz due to a yellow-card ban and has been given a short break by the club.
"Lucho has played every game for us and his national team," Kompany said. "He has had the longest journeys. He played in England and never had Christmas off. It is fine for him to have a few days off and go away. He will return in a top mental state and pick up where he left off. He will be back in a few days."
Kompany added that players who are given time away still follow strict fitness schedules.
"Sometimes we give players a little extra time off, but they have an individual training programme and keep working at home. The guys work almost every day and also have their own private physios," he said.
Bayern Munich are also expected to be without Sacha Boey, who missed the weekend win over Stuttgart due to illness and did not train on Monday. Jamal Musiala also remains sidelined as he continues to recover from a fibula fracture and ankle dislocation sustained at the Club World Cup.
