The Nigerian attacker joined the La Liga side in February following a successful yet controversial spell at Serie A club Atalanta, with the player falling out with manager Ivan Juric after touchline confrontation in November 2025.
Lookman has made 17 appearances for Atletico in all competitions, scoring six goals while providing four assists since his late winter transfer window move and has given credit to his Argentine mentor for his good performances.
"I think everything, he [Simeone] demands more of me," said the 28-year-old.
"For me, that's a pleasure because you have somebody there pushing you. [He demands] More of everything, I think defending and attacking, helping the team in certain moments and being part of play.
"He sees more in you and wants more from you. That's just for me to keep working hard on the training field and keep on demanding more of myself."
The Nigeria international also opened up on his experience in the Spanish La Liga, revealing a more technical league.
"It is nice and incredible. The technical capabilities of everyone here is top," added Lookman.
"With the ball, everybody wants to play a certain type of football here and everyone wants to get a feel of the ball, which is good. "It is the game - how they see it. To me, it is the best way to play football."
The Super Eagles star will be looking for a strong finish in the league and to help The Mattress Makers to claim their first UEFA Champions League title following his winner against Barcelona in their recent quarter-final clash.
