AC Milan unveil Luka Modric as new sighing from Real Madrid

AC Milan have secured a monumental signing, bringing Croatian midfield maestro Luka Modric to the San Siro on a contract until June 30, 2026, with an option to extend until 2027.

The move, confirmed by the club on their official X account, marks a new chapter for the 40-year-old, who leaves Real Madrid as their most decorated player ever.

Born in Zadar on September 9, 1985, Modric's journey began at Dinamo Zagreb's youth academy at 16. Loan spells at Zrinjski Mostar and NK Inter Zapresic sharpened his skills before he returned to Dinamo, where he scored 32 goals in 128 appearances, clinching three league titles, two Croatian Cups, and a Croatian Super Cup.

In 2008, Tottenham Hotspur signed him, and he notched 17 goals in 159 games. His 2012 move to Real Madrid defined his legacy: 43 goals in 597 matches, six Champions Leagues, four La Liga titles, and a staggering 23 total trophies, including the 2018 Ballon d'Or.

"Luka is a phenomenon," AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca said in a recent X post. "His vision and leadership will elevate our midfield."

Modric, who will wear the number 14 shirt, expressed his excitement on X, stating, "I'm thrilled to join this historic club. Let's make magic at the San Siro."

As Croatia's captain with a record 188 caps and 28 goals, Modric brings unmatched experience. This signing signals Milan's ambition to reclaim Serie A dominance and compete in Europe.

The Rossoneri have not disclosed the transfer fee, but Modric's arrival is a statement of intent. With his contract nearing its end at Real Madrid, the move offers him a fresh challenge while Milan gain a player whose passing and composure remain elite.
