Willie le Roux returns to Bulls starting line-up to face Dragons

Springbok star Willie le Roux is set to return to the Bulls starting XV for the first time since January after coach Jake White named a strong lineup to take on the Dragons in Newport on Saturday.

Le Roux has not started a match for the Bulls since the win over the Lions in late January. He was forced to rest in February and came off the bench in the win over the Stormers earlier this month.

Le Roux joins Bok bolter Kurt-Lee Arendse and Sebastian de Klerk in a dangerous back three for Saturday's clash.

Another change in the backline sees fellow Bok star Canan Moodie move from the wing position back to the midfield where he will partner Harold Vorster.

The halfback pairing sees Chris Smith and Zak Burger link up once again.

Up front, Gerhard Steenekamp, who just signed a four-year extension with the Bulls, joins Bok prop Wilco Louw and Jan-Hendrik Wessels in the front row.

Co-captains Marcell Coetzee and Ruan Nortje add more muscle up front, as do Marco van Staden, Ruan Vermaak and Mpilo Gumede in a pack that should ask some serious questions of their Welsh opponents this weekend.

Bulls: 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Sebastian de Klerk, 13 Canan Moodie, 12 Harold Vorster, 11 Kurt-Lee Arendse, 10 Chris Smith, 9 Zak Burger, 8 Marcell Coetzee (co-captain), 7 Mpilo Gumede, 6 Marco van Staden, 5 Ruan Nortje (co-captain), 4 Ruan Vermaak, 3 Wilco Louw, 2 Jan-Hendrik Wessell, 1 Gerhard Steenekamp.

Replacements: 16 Johan Grobbelaar, 17 Simphiwe Matanzima, 18 Morne Smith, 19 Reinhardt Ludwig, 20 Nizaam Carr, 21 Embrose Papier, 22 Johan Goosen, 23 Devon Williams.
