Springbok hardman Jasper Wiese to leave Leicester at end of the season

World Cup-winning Springbok No 8 Jasper Wiese has confirmed he is leaving Leicester at the end of the season.

Wiese, one of the most destructive ball carriers in the Gallagher Premiership, is expected to join Stade Francais in a move that will end his four-year spell with the Tigers.

The 28-year-old came on as a replacement in the Springboks' World Cup final victory over New Zealand in October and was man of the match when Leicester toppled Saracens in the 2022 Gallagher Premiership final.

"I've loved every minute of my time at the club and will continue to give my all for my team and my team-mates," Wiese said.

"This is a special place for me and my family and we have a lot more memories to create this season."

Meanwhile, a report in the Irish Times claims that another Bok star, RG Snyman, is set to join Irish giants Leinster after his contract with Munster expires at the end of the season as a replacement for Jason Jenkins.

So far Munster have only announced that Snyman is departing "for a new playing opportunity on completion of his contract at the end of the season", but according to the report, his move to Leinster is a done deal.
