Springbok duo extend Sharks contracts

Springboks Ox Nche and Bongi Mbonambi are the latest Sharks players to extend their contracts with the club.

The Durba-based franchise has been on a signing spree of late as it looks to secure the services of its stars for the future. On Wednesday, Nche signed a new long-term deal to remain at Kings Park until 2025.

The loosehead prop has earned 19 Test caps for the Green and Gold and has emerged as a reliable rock on which to anchor the Bok scrum.

Also putting pen to paper was Springbok veteran and World Cup winner Mbonambi, who will stay with the Sharks until 2026. Mbonambi joined the franchise from the Stormers in 2021, cementing his place as the first-choice hooker.

The Sharks have also secured contract renewals for the likes of Bok hopefuls Curwin Bosch, Ntuthuko Mchunu and eighthman Sikhumbuzo Notshe, while forward Phepsi Buthelezi and utility back Marnus Potgieter also extended their stays.
