Sharks lock down Bok star Vincent Tshituka on long-term deal until 2029

The Sharks confirmed on Friday that flanker Vincent Tshituka has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Kings Park until 2029.

"Vin is in!

"Vincent Tshituka will continue his barnstorming runs for the Hollywoodbets Sharks!" the Durban outfit posted on social media on Friday.

The deal is understood to be a significant coup for the Sharks, with reports indicating Tshituka attracted substantial interest from leading French clubs but ultimately opted to stay in Durban.

Since arriving from the Lions in 2022, the powerful loose forward has grown into one of the Sharks' most influential figures, and in 2025 he was elevated to captain - a role he has continued to fulfil regularly.

He was also named Sharks Player of the Year during last year's annual awards in June.

During that same year, Tshituka made his mark on the international stage when he started for the Springboks against the Barbarians in Cape Town, before earning his official Test debut against Italy at Loftus Versfeld.

Tshituka remains on coach Rassie Erasmus' radar in 2026 and was invited to the first Springbok alignment camp of the year in February.

His extension follows a busy week for the Sharks, who earlier confirmed that Springbok utility back Ethan Hooker had also signed a new deal through to 2029.
