Roaring Lions ready to extend winning streak against Sharks

The Lions will look to continue their winning streak against the Sharks as they come off a three-week hiatus in Durban this Saturday.

Marius Louw will lead the Johannesburg-based team, with Sanele Nohamba taking on the flyhalf role as both players eye a positive outcome against their former team at the Shark Tank.

Ivan van Rooyen's squad received a double boost with Ruben Schoeman's return to the starting lineup after a suspension and Reinhard Northagel's comeback to the match 23 following injury setbacks.

However, they are still without Willem Alberts, who remains sidelined with a pectoral muscle injury.

Van Rooyen opts for JP Smith, PJ Botha, and Asenathi Ntlabakanye in the front row, while the second row pairs Darrien Landsberg with Schoeman.

The backline features Francke Horn at No 8, flanked by Emmanuel Tshituka and Ruan Venter at openside and blindside respectively. Morne van den Berg partners with Nohamba in the halfback positions.

The midfield is marshaled by Louw and Henco van Wyk, while the back three comprises Quan Horn at fullback, with Edwill van der Merwe and Richard Kriel on the wings.

Lions: 15 Quan Horn, 14 Richard Kriel, 13 Henco van Wyk, 12 Marius Louw (captain), 11 Edwill van der Merwe, 10 Sanele Nohamba, 9 Morné van den Berg, 8 Francke Horn, 7 Ruan Venter, 6 Emmanuel Tshituka, 5 Darrien Landsberg, 4 Ruben Schoeman, 3 Asenathi Ntlabakanye, 2 PJ Botha, 1 JP Smith.

Replacements: 16 Jaco Visagie, 17 Morgan Naude, 18 Ruan Smith, 19 Reinhard Nothnager, 20 Hanru Sirgel, 21 JC Pretorius, 22 Jordan Hendrikse, 23 Rynhardt Jonker.
