Lock Malembe Mpofu suffered a head knock in Griquas' 25-5 mauling of the Free State Cheetahs in the semifinal last week. Unfortunately, Mpofu has failed his Head Impact Assessment protocols, resulting in Derik Pretorious being called up to the starting line-up.
Versatile loose forward Marco de Witt remains on the bench as lock cover, while Phumzile Maqondwana wears jersey 20 as an extra loose forward.
Winger Dylan Maart, who bagged a brace last weekend, retains his place among the back three with fullback Cameron Hufke and the fleet-footed Gershin Wehr.
Talismanic captain Cebo Dlamini will lead the team from prop, where he will scrum down with hooker Janco Uys and loosehead Eddie Davids.
Griquas will be hunting their first Currie Cup title since 1970. They last reached the final in 2022, where they lost to a spirited Pumas ouutfit that claimed their first-ever title.
