Bok management to monitor Siya Kolisi's progress

SA Rugby said it would monitor the rehabilitation of Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi

Kolisi underwent the operation on Friday and Springbok team doctor Jerome Mampane and his medical team will continue to monitor his recovery and rehabilitation. Mampane said it was too early to make any reliable forecasts on when Kolisi may be able to return to play.

Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber said: "We wish Siya well during his recovery and we know that he will do everything possible to return to play soon as possible."

On Tuesday, Kolisi took to Instagram to share a clip of him and his wife Rachel singing in the car on the way back from the hospital.

"Our trip back from the op! The painkillers were on full blast for me..." he captioned.

Kolisi is in a race against time to recover before the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, where the Springboks' opening fixture is on 10 September against Scotland in Marseille.
