Bad weather forces change in venue and kickoff time for Cheetahs v Ulster clash

The third-round Challenge Cup match between the Toyota Cheetahs and Ulster has been moved to a new venue and brought forward by more than two hours ahead of Sunday's scheduled kick-off.

The fixture will now take place at Dukes Rugby in 's-Hertogenbosch, kicking off at 14:00 local time on Sunday 11 January, after the Municipality of Amsterdam declared all municipal sports pitches unplayable due to adverse weather conditions earlier in the week.

As a result of the decision, the match can no longer be staged at the NRCA Stadium in Amsterdam, where it had originally been scheduled to kick off at 16:15. Rugby Nederland, the Toyota Cheetahs and EPCR worked together to secure the alternative venue in order to ensure the Pool 3 fixture could still go ahead.

However, due to the late change of venue, the match will be played behind closed doors, with Rugby Nederland and Dukes Rugby unable to make the necessary arrangements for public attendance. All ticket holders will receive a full refund, excluding the administration fee, with further details to be communicated via email.

Organisers are continuing to monitor the weather situation, with further disruption still possible should conditions deteriorate. EPCR acknowledged the disappointment for supporters travelling to the match but stressed that the safety of players and match officials remained the priority.

The Pool 3 Round 3 encounter will be refereed by France's Kevin Bralley.
