South African underdog chases glory

The current WBO Super Flyweight Champion and South African, Phumelela "The Truth" Cafu, is ready for his title unification bout against the undefeated Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez tomorrow morning.

Despite Phumelela Cafu achieving the status of WBO super flyweight champion, he is still relatively unknown on the global stage, but this fight against "Bam" Rodriguez may catapult the South African into stardom.

The fight at the massive Ford Center in Texas will headline a jampacked card, and it will also be the very first time that Cafu fights on american soil.

This is what Cafu had to say about the mega fight that lies ahead.

"I'm ready for this fight. This is everything I've ever dreamed of.

"Everyone is doubting me, but I'm cool with being the underdog,"

Rodriguez is touted to be boxing's next superstar, and according to the bookies, Rodriguez is a firm favourite against the South African.

"I take nothing away from Bam, he's a very good fighter, but people will see how great I am on the night.

"I believe that I have the power that will put anyone's lights out."

Cafu's trainer, Colin Nathan, believes his fighter has what it takes to upset the applecart, and to shock the boxing world.
