The two boxers will also be fighting for Rodriguez’s prized Ring magazine title, and it’s a proud moment for Cafu to be fighting for this important title.
Boxing doesn’t enjoy the same coverage as football, rugby and cricket in the country, but the East London-born boxer reminds the people that next week’s fight is very big.
"I feel like also only the people who follow boxing know how big this fight is. I feel like not every South African knows. To them it's just another fight, okay, another boxer is going to America to them that's all but this fight is huge man,” Cafu said.
“It's really huge and I know how huge it is, that's why I've been focused, I've been staying away from everything that I should stay away from. Locked in, making sure I eat clean, making sure I train and making sure that my mind is straight so I'm really taking this fight seriously."
One of the special moments CAFU is looking forward to ahead of this fight is the traditional new kit he received from East London before his departure.
The flamboyant Cafu says he will be looking colourful and the part on fight night.
"You know there's really nothing special about it but I'm going to a unify so you know in kits I never disappoint, I make sure I look the part,” he added.
“Even in my last fight I went for purple, purple is a royal colour so that's why I went for purple. Now, I'm already crowned, it's a king versus a king we've, now we're just gonna see who's the real king so yeah man but it's be a good kit that's all I can say and it's gonna look good on me. Actually I'm gonna look good on it and I'm gonna do good."
