Noslova and Muchova lead Czechia to Billie Jean King Cup title

Three months ago, the pair faced off against each other in the final of Wimbledon, and on Sunday they teamed up to secure a comfortable victory for Czechia.

The result is Czechia's 12th title in the competition, but their first since 2018, making them the second-most successful nation in Billie Jean King Cup history behind the USA.

Muchova, ranked eighth in the world, got them off to a strong start with a 6-2, 6-3 win over 47th-ranked Anhelina Kalinina.

Sixth-ranked Nuskova then beat Elina Svitolina, ranked just one place below her, in less emphatic but still convincing fashion, 6-3, 7-6 to secure the title without the need for a deciding doubles match.

Czechia captain Barbora Strycova becomes just the fourth woman to win the event as a player and a coach.

The country's run saw them beat Great Britain in the quarter-finals and Spain in the semi-final to set up their final success against Ukraine.
