MI Cape Town, Max Anstie showcase trophies as two sports collide

In a unique meeting between cricket and high-octane motorsport, newly crowned World Supercross SX2 champion Max Anstie and SA20 winners MI Cape Town showcased their trophies.

MI Cape Town were represented at the cross-sport meeting by 19-year-old Daniel Lategan as the duo met at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

British rider Anstie showed season-long consistency that was enough to secure his second SX2 world title.

MI Cape Town are current defending champions of the SA20 having won their maiden trophy in the third season of the tournament.

Lategan has linked up with the MI Cape Town squad ahead of the fourth season of the SA20 that kicks off later this month.

The left-handed batter is set for his maiden campaign in the SA20 having been born in the Western Cape but made his professional debut for English county side Worcestershire in September.

MI Cape Town start the new season with a home game against Durban's Super Giants at Newlands on 26 December.
