Juan Alberts: Opportunity of a lifetime to fight in the UK

Juan Alberts, together with Ethan Peters and Jose Kadima have been linked with an opportunity to fight for one of the best promotions in the world courtesy of the clever manoeuvring of Rodney Berman and Golden Gloves.

The overseas opportunity is still yet to be set in stone, but it’s difficult to imagine a world in which Juan Albert’s does not secure a fight abroad one of these days.

Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions house some of the world’s most elite heavyweight boxers. The likes of which include Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois, Zhilei Zhang, and Moses Itauma. South Africa’s Kevin Lerena also featured a few times for the world class promotion, and Alberts is looking to follow in his countryman’s footsteps…

“To be linked with fighting on a Queensberry card is an amazing feeling because it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Some of our top guys like Kevin Lerena have fought over there.

“It could be a huge opportunity to get my name out there and fight on the World Stage. The door is there, but before then I intend to win my next fight in May, and that will be another step up for me to grow in the sport.

“When I get past my next opponent, then I’ll step up and take it to the UK although I’m not completely sure how it’s going to work, but it is still very exciting news to hear that I have the chance to fight on such a huge platform,” said the heavyweight bruiser.

Nicknamed ‘The Gentleman’, Juan Alberts is determined to continue his undefeated streak in order to catch the attention of the international boxing audience and take South African heavyweight boxing to new heights.
