In his latest outing, Kalengui demolished Isaac Sandys in the first round to move his record to 3-0 with two knockouts in the super-flyweight division.
Speaking exclusively to SABC Sport, the young Lion says the key is to train hard and fight easily.
“Camp was really surprising for me because I sparred with old amateur rivals – guys that I didn’t see eye to eye with came to visit my gym to help me prepare for this fight. I also sparred with top champions like Sikho Nqothole," Kalengui said.
“The fight went as planned, I just didn’t expect it to end so early, but I guess it’s a case of train hard and fight easy.”
It hasn’t taken the 22-year-old long at all to announce himself in the pro ranks, and his latest triumph is simply yet another sign of what is to come.
“I have an aggressive come forward style with a lot of head movement. I can out box you if I want, I can end you if I want and we can go skill for skill, but at the end of the day I will have my hand raised.
“My plan is to walk through every top guy and every top name. Just speak to my manager or promoter and I’ll be there. I don’t duck anybody in this game.”
Fighting out of Fight with Insight, Emmanuel Kalengui has maintained a close bond with his local community, and most importantly his brother, Moses Kalengui, who has been with him every step of the way, and it may just be a matter of time before the world takes note of the Kalengui brothers.
