The venue, situated in New Jersey, will host its third LIV Golf tournament following events in 2022 and 2023.
As the Southern Guards GC team gears up for the 11th event of the 2026 season, the stand-in captain has assessed the course where the team will compete from 6 to 9 August 2026.
“It’s a great golf course. It’s a golf course that will also suit Martin, as he is a long hitter. It’s a very long golf course and it can be windy, as it’s quite exposed. What we’ve found in the past is it seems to suit the long hitters quite well, so you need to take advantage of the par-fives here, otherwise, you can struggle,” said Schwartzel
Schwartzel has been entrusted with leading the team in the absence of captain Louis Oosthuizen, who continues his recovery from a recurring back injury.
The Southern Guards quartet of Schwartzel, Branden Grace, Dean Burmester as well as Martin Vorster arrive in New York, seventh in the team standings after securing a top-10 at LIV Golf UK, where Burmester and Grace led the team with -17th place finishers.
Schwartzel has also welcomed the performance of team mate Martin Vorster following his first LIV Golf appearance in the UK.
“I’m very proud of Martin. I thought he played extremely well. He was thrown into the deep end a little bit and handled himself really well.”
