Forward Maximilian Beier opened the scoring for Dortmund, with Bayern’s substitutes Raphaël Adelino and Serge David Gnabry managing to put the Bavarians in the lead.

However, Dortmund was able to equalise late in the game with a goal from Waldemar Anton.

Speaking to the media, Kane says they wasted a lot of chances in the first half.

"Crazy finish to the game for sure, I thought in the first half we dominated the game, we should've been ahead going into halftime, but we were a bit wasteful with the chances. Obviously, we went behind, responded really well, the substitutes came on and made a really good impact," said Kane.

"It was disappointing to concede again, and the last 10 minutes it could've gone either way, they had some chances, we had some chances. Overall, I think it was a positive performance, we just have to be more clinical in their final third."

Bayern now sit six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table with defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen having failed to secure a much-needed victory against Union Berlin.

Asked whether he is ready to lift a trophy with Bayern, Kane says they are taking it one game at a time.

"There are still 5 games to go in the Bundesliga, and like I just said, it would've been nice to get a bit more of a lead by winning today, but it's 6 points (lead) with 5 games left. We would've taken this position at the start of the season, so now we just have to make sure we finish strong," he added.

"We have an important game midweek, and then a tough away game on Saturday that we have to be ready for."

The England captain is currently the top goal scorer in the Bundesliga with 23 goals this season, followed closely by Leverkusen’s Patrick Schick with 17 goals.

He says the draw today will count as they continue working hard to win the league.

"It's a point we wanted to obviously win, and go eight points ahead, but it's one step closer to what we're trying to achieve, and the bigger picture is we move onto Wednesday now," said the Bundesliga's top scorer.

Bayern will face Inter Milan in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final before traveling to Heidenheim in the Bundesliga.

Kane says they are not expecting any of these games to be less challenging.

"We knew the score, and I think we used that momentum at the start of the game quite well. Of course, there was an opportunity for us to get a couple more points ahead, and that was the aim.

"Everyone left everything out on the pitch to try and make that happen, probably even a little bit crazy is that we conceded some of the chances we did, considering that a point wasn't the end of the world.

"So in the end it's just like both teams won, we're six points ahead still with one game less now. So we just have to make sure that we're ready for a tough away game next week. "Obviously, Heidenheim caused Leverkusen problems last week, and they found it difficult to score until late on, so we know it will be a difficult game," Kane stated.
