The highly anticipated Motorsport African Championship will include top team battles in high-performance machines, from prototypes to GT car racing.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Letlaka says motorsport fans can also look forward to entertainment zones that cater for both adults and children at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

“Round 4 of the South African Endurance Series hits the track this weekend at the legendary Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, and it's set to be a motorsport fan’s dream. The main event, a thrilling four-hour endurance race, will see top teams battle it out in high-performance machines, from prototypes to GT cars,” said Letlaka.

“Off the track, fans can enjoy our sponsored Fun Area, filled with interactive activities, giveaways, and family-friendly entertainment. With food stalls, chill zones, and free entry for kids under 12, it’s the perfect day out for everyone.”

Following successful races in Zwartkops, Aldo Scribante, and Kilarney, the Kyalami round promises a day of intense endurance racing as top teams and drivers return to the track for another high-stakes battle.

Letlaka explains what goes into participating in this competition.

“All SAES drivers must be licensed by Motorsport South Africa and meet strict safety and performance standards. The grid includes top local and international talent, from seasoned pros to rising stars.” added Letlaka.

Latlaka further unpacks the growth of motorsport in South Africa, even as the country prepares to host its first F1 race since 1993.

“Motorsport in South Africa is growing steadily, fueled by increased interest from fans, drivers, and sponsors. More local events like the SA Endurance Series are gaining popularity, attracting both established racers and new talent. Investments in infrastructure, driver development programs, and media coverage are helping to raise the sport’s profile,’’ she expressed.
