Sithole was one of 10 new players flaunted by Gallants in Johannesburg earlier this week, along with new coach Alexandre Lafitte.

The 28-year-old says he joined the club for a fresh start with a coach who does not have any prior opinions about any of the players in the squad, and will afford everyone an equal chance.

"It's a new chapter for everyone. I think it's his first time being in South Africa and it will be his first job here so I can't say how grateful I am for the opportunity because it's new for everyone. Like I said it's a new chapter, we're looking forward to compete and get the best out of each other," Sithole said.

Sithole says he is looking to get more game time than at his previous club, and has high hopes that Marumo is exactly the right place for him to do that.

He says all he wants is to show what he can on the field of play.

"Yeah for me I always go for more challenges. I challenge myself to do better, it's not about what the club did but it's about what I can offer to the club since they came to the table and told me that they can offer me more playing time and I always wish to play more games so that I can showcase my talent," he added.

Gallants relocated to Bloemfontein in August last year, and Sithole believes that was part of why they struggled in the first half of the season.

He was, however, impressed with how they came back to make two cup semi-finals plus missed the top eight by a whisker.

"For league performances, I think it's a team that has been struggling in terms of relocating and stuff, I think that has affected them. For them to come from fighting relegation the previous season and this season finishing 10th, I think it's a great achievement.

“Not to forget that they came of semi-finals of Carlling [Cup] and Nedbank [Cup] also."
