Rybakina, who won the Wimbledon title in 2022, looked on course for a routine victory when she swept through the first set.
The Kazakhstani though had 13 unforced errors in the second set as Boisson showed her fighting capabilities to take the game into a decider.
The third set stayed even through seven games, but Rybakina appeared to play with an uptick in form late on eventually got the break before closing out the match.
Rybakina will next face the winner of the Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Catherine McNally match in the second round.
