MBB had lost their opening two matches this past weekend against Al Ahli Tripoli and Rwanda’s APR, but bounced back yesterday in their third game in the Nile Conference. They had been behind in the first three quarters, but veteran campaigner Pieter Prinsloo explains how they managed to come back in this game.
"I'm ecstatic, it was a hard-fought game, we went up early, and then we dug ourselves into a hole, but we dug in and clawed our way back," said Prinsloo.
Prinsloo also produced a BAL career high for himself in this game, scoring 30 points with 11 rebounds.
With the BAL play-offs and finals set to be held in Pretoria next month, Prinsloo, who was also part of the Cape Town Tigers project, says they understand the pressure element that comes with this.
"We understand that the playoffs are in South Africa, and it's a big thing for us to qualify. We also understand the mistakes we've made, and with each passing game our basketball just got better and better. Obviously, you have to play 40 minutes of basketball to produce a complete game," he pointed out.
After the loss to APR, head coach Sam Vincent had raised the importance of experience, something he would like to see his team gaining in this Nile Conference, ahead of the play-offs back home, where they will enter as hosts...
