Paul successfully defended her BC One title in Johannesburg at the end of March and is now gearing up to face breakdancers from across the world in the Battle De Vaulx.
The Durban-born dancer qualified for the competition after clinching the African title in Ghana last year.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Paul says she’s optimistic as she prepares for France.
“Claiming back-to-back victories in the 2025 South African Red Bull BC One competition will undoubtedly give me a confidence boost as I head to France later this month. Wins on home soil not only come with momentum but also additional experience and comfortability points which is so important, especially on international stages,” Paul said.
Paul was one of the break dancers that represented South Africa in the Olympic Qualifiers. Though it was her first time winning the BC One title back-to-back, she has won it three times.
She says this proves how hard she works behind the scenes.
“Not only is this my 3rd Red Bull BC One SA win, but also my first back-to-back win, so it feels incredible! This achievement validates the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication I've invested, personally confirming for me that I'm on the right path,” she explained.
Paul will later this year represent South Africa in the BC One competition in Tokyo, Japan.
She says she’s already focusing on getting mentally ready for the competition.
“I'll stick to my tried-and-true approach: thoroughly assessing my strengths and weaknesses, focusing on holistic growth, and giving it my all – leaving everything on the floor. Breaking is a long-term investment, I’ll need to endure my body and mind are also up for the journey.”
