The Italian swept aside Czech opponent Tomas Machac in straight sets at the Qatar Open in Doha on Monday, winning 6-1 6-4. Sinner needed just 27 minutes to take the opening set before sealing the match in confident fashion. He was later interviewed on court by former England footballer Rio Ferdinand.
"I felt very good on the court today. Physically I feel quite good. I know, of course, that each match will get more complicated. I hope to be ready for the next one," he said.
Sinner will meet Australia's Alexei Popyrin in the last 16 after the world number 53 eased past local wild card Mubarak Shannan Zayid 6-0 6-2.
Elsewhere, world number 11 Daniil Medvedev also progressed comfortably, defeating China's Juncheng Shang 6-4 6-2.
Sixth seed Jakub Mensik booked his place in the last 16 as well, recovering from a first-set tie-break loss to overcome Britain's Jan Choinski 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 6-4.
