Crinums looking forward to spectacle in the TNL final

Free State Crinums coach Martha Mosoahle-Samm is expecting a tough Telkom Netball League Division A final against defending champions the Gauteng Jaguars on Wedesnday.

The Crinums secured a spot in the final after their hard fought 43-39 win over the Gauteng Fireballs at the Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg on Monday evening.

The Free State side has enjoyed a good run this season, havng suffered only one defeat in 12 matches, and Mosoahle-Samm reckons it will be a final not to be missed.

"I am expecting a very tough final with a good display of netball against the Jaguars. It is going to be a good match, it is always so nice to play against the Jaguars - their players have such good netball skills," she said.

"At the moment we are resting a little bit, we are still celebrating the win from the semi-finals. We are taking the day to rest and we hope to come back very strong with the analysis and back to the drawing board.

"We’re excited to be in the final, and we’re looking forward to it."

The coach also sang the praises of goal attack Xandri Fourie, who had an outstanding performance to see the three-time champions into the finals, with 30 goals and 38 attempts against the Fireballs.

Mosoahle-Samm says she is proud of Fourie for sticking to the game plan throughout her performance.

"Xandri’s performance was excellent, she was on point – she knew exactly what was needed on the day. She stuck to the game plan for the entire 55 minutes of the match," she concluded.
