Lerato “Lights Out” Dlamini is scheduled to fight Japanese southpaw Mikito Nakano on May 6 in Tokyo.
In an exclusive conversation with SABC Sport, Colin Nathan respects the magnitude of the task, but believes Lerato Dlamini has the skill set to announce his return to the ring in winning fashion.
“Lerato has been looking very sharp and confident ahead of that fight. I think stylistically, Lerato’s style is going to present a big problem for Nakano.
“Nakano is a devastating puncher, but he likes it when his opponents stand in the midline, but I don’t think Lerato is going to stand in the midline because he knows he can’t against a fearsome opponent.”
‘Nomakanjani’ also offered a breakdown of Nqothole’s upcoming IBF World Title Eliminator in London on May 29.
“This fight comes at the right time, I think Sikho is at the prime of his career, and it’s a great opportunity for him to face a former flyweight champion of the world in Charlie Edwards.
“We want the shot, and I think Sikho’s style is all wrong for Edwards. The two have very similar records, except Sikho is the much harder puncher between the two. If all things are fair and neutral with the judges, we will get the decision, and we may even stop Charlie Edwards.”
Colin Nathan is under no illusion that these fights will not be one of the toughest tests his fighters have faced, but he believes they have what it takes not only to be competitive on the world stage, but to take over.
