Coach Juan Carlos Ferrero praises Carlos Alcaraz's ability to adapt his game

Juan Carlos Ferrero has hailed Carlos Alcaraz's "chameleon-like" approach to training as the key factor behind the Spaniard's US Open final triumph.

Under Ferrero's six-year mentorship, Alcaraz has claimed all six of his Grand Slam titles, including the 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Jannik Sinner that avenged his 2025 Wimbledon defeat.

Ferrero explained that Alcaraz had been instructed to adjust minor aspects of his preparation and in-match strategy, and the young star executed these changes flawlessly.

"The most incredible thing about Carlos is that he is so good at quickly correcting the small details he needs to improve," said Ferrero.

"He is chameleon-like, and you can ask him to do anything during a match, he adapts and ultimately succeeds, and we also transfer that a lot to training."

Alcaraz's ability to respond to Sinner's game with these subtle adjustments proved decisive, allowing him to dominate crucial moments and secure the victory.

The win not only adds a sixth Grand Slam to Alcaraz's rapidly growing collection but also reinforces the effectiveness of Ferrero's coaching philosophy, which combines careful preparation with adaptability on court.
